The Agency for Tourism Strategy of the Balearic Islands (AETIB)

It is part of the instrumental public sector. It is part of the Ministry of Economic Model, Tourism and Labour, which, in turn, is part of the Autonomous Government of the Balearic Islands.
The general objective of the AETIB is the tourism strategy of the Balearic Islands and the management of the resources of the fund to promote sustainable tourism. The aims of the AETIB are the elaboration of the sustainability strategy as an element to reduce the impact of tourist activity and to improve the international positioning of the Balearic Islands.


The Federation of Local Entities of the Balearic Islands (FELIB)

It has the following aims:
To defend and promote the common interests of its member entities, as well as to foster and defend their autonomy, within the framework of the Constitution, the Statute of Autonomy of the Balearic Islands and the provisions of these Statutes.
To promote and defend the language and culture of the Balearic Islands in local life.
To promote studies on problems and issues that affect the associated entities.
To disseminate knowledge of municipal and island institutions, and also to encourage citizens to participate in local activity.


The Chamber of Commerce of Mallorca

It is a public law corporation that provides services to companies and defends the general interest of commerce, industry, services and navigation. It collaborates with the public administration and the business environment to promote sustainable economic development, having representation in multiple entities and working groups. The Chamber of Commerce of Mallorca is a member of Cámara España and actively collaborates with the official chambers of other Spanish, Mediterranean, European and international regions.


AENA (Spanish Airports and Air Navigation)

It is a Spanish public company that manages airports of general interest in Spain. The company operates 45 airports and 2 heliports in Spain and participates, through its subsidiary "Aena Internacional", in the management of 15 airports in Europe and America, making it the world's leading airport operator in terms of passenger numbers.


Balearic Islands Port Authority (APB)

It is a public body that depends on the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agency, Puertos del Estado. The APB is responsible for the management of the ports of Palma, Alcudia, Maó, Eivissa and La Savina. Its competences are:


  • Conducting, authorising and controlling maritime and land operations related to port transit and port services.
  • Development of the port service area and port uses.
  • Planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of port services and maritime signals.
  • Management of the port domain and maritime signals.
    Promotion of industrial and commercial activities related to maritime or port transit.
  • Coordination of the operations of the different modes of transport in the port area.

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET)

Its purpose is the development, implementation and provision of meteorological services under the jurisdiction of the State and support for the exercise of other public policies and private activities, contributing to the safety of people and goods and to the well-being and sustainable development of Spanish society. The Agency has the status of State meteorological authority, as well as the status of aeronautical meteorological authority.


The Statistical Institute of the Balearic Islands (IBESTAT)

It is an autonomous entity that depends on the Department of Economic Model, Tourism and Labour of the Government of the Balearic Islands, responsible for promoting, directing and coordinating the exercise of the autonomous activity in statistical matters, as well as the Statistical System of the Balearic Islands in accordance with the provisions of Law 3/2002 of 17 May and especially in what is indicated in its article 34 regarding its functions:
a) To promote, direct and coordinate the public statistical activity of interest to the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands. b) To draft the preliminary draft of the Statistical Plan with the collaboration of the remaining units of the statistical system of the Balearic Islands. c) To propose the standardisation of concepts, definitions, classifications, nomenclatures and codes for the classification of data and the presentation of results, to promote their use in the statistical activity of the Balearic Islands and to promote, within the framework of its powers, methodological coordination with the statistics of local councils, other Autonomous Communities, the General State Administration, the European Union and international organisations. g) To promote statistical research and the training and professional development of statistical personnel. j) To promote the dissemination of statistics relating to the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands.
