The Smart Destination Platform of Mallorca (Mallorca PID) will be designed ensuring full interoperability with the central node of the Smart Destination Platform (PID). In this framework, Mallorca plans to use all the common modules of the central node, leveraging its capabilities for content management, tourist interaction, destination governance, and data intelligence.
On this common base, Mallorca defines a series of specific use cases aimed at responding to the concrete needs of the destination (both from the tourist perspective and from public management and collaboration with the private sector), maximizing the use of common services and aligning the solution with the Smart Tourism Destination model. The rollout will generate significant impacts in public management, sustainability, business competitiveness, and the tourism experience. The combination of common PID modules with the specific use cases defined for Mallorca will enable a unified, interoperable, data-oriented digital ecosystem that will transform how the island plans, manages, and communicates its tourism model.
Mallorca PID will implement the following use cases to address the destination's needs:
Water cycle and waste module
Tourism asset digitization module
Accommodation module
Mobility, transport, and parking module
Flow and public space congestion measurement module
Event impact module
