The Sustainable Tourism Observatory presents open data management for governance in the INSTO network of the World Tourism Organization.

Mallorca is presenting itself for the first time in person at the global meeting of the International Network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories that took place in Madrid.

The Sustainable Tourism Observatory of Mallorca participates in the global meeting of the International Network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories (INSTO network) of the World Tourism Organization, which took place at its headquarters in Madrid. Representatives of 35 observatories have shared the latest updates on the development of international tourism. As well as the advances in the measurement of sustainable tourism and the role that the observatories of the INSTO network play in the sustainable transformation of destinations.

For the first time in person, the Sustainable Tourism Observatory of Mallorca, which depends on the Department of Transition, Tourism and Sports of the Council of Mallorca, has been presented to the rest of the network, along with six other observatories. At the convention, the management of the open data portal for governance that the Observatory of Mallorca will soon publish has been announced. The entity's intention to manage predictive models to be able to offer more information when making decisions and generating policies focused on the tourism sustainability of the island has also been shared.

The meeting, which lasted two days, was attended by the island director of Transition and Tourism Management, Joan Gaspar Vallori, and the head of the Sustainable Tourism Observatory of Mallorca, Mónica Núñez.

This meeting has been an opportunity for the already established observatories, the possible interested destinations and other interested parties in tourism to share experiences, learn from good practices and move forward together in the efforts to create a sustainable destination.
