“The needed transition of the tourism sector”

The Executive Director of UNWTO, Zoritsa Urosevic, commented that "we must minimize the impact of tourism on the environment and for this, it is necessary to take into account some fundamental pillars such as:

- Green transformation: we have to defend the circular economy, in which Mallorca is a leader.

- Digital transformation: destinations, companies and industry players need to embrace new technologies in an inclusive manner.

- Governance: UNWTO is developing a consensus to measure the sustainability of tourism and to be able to compare data by time and destination. Spain is playing a very important role".
